URYM started with six young girls in 2001 has now grown in to massive family of more than 6000 members from 100+ colleges located in various states of INDIA. Though the ministry was initially started to work among girls, a separate boys team was started in the year 2005. At the moment there are twelve missionaries headed by Sis.Esther Pricilla, striving to establish the kingdom of our Almighty.

Back in 2001....
A fresh and vibrant turning point among College youth began in the year 2001 when the” Upper Room Youth Mission” was launched with the burning desire to reach young hearts dying in sin and thereby win India for Christ . “Where there is no vision the people perish”. God imparted this vision into the heart of a young and aspiring woman called Esther Pricilla, who started this mission by clinging on to His promises alone. A humble beginning with just 6 young women has now taken root and is bringing forth fruits in thousands!
The fire kindled by the Holy Spirit has spread far and wide. By the grace of God we are ministering among college students in 100+ colleges across India, in a span of seven wonderful years URYM has blossomed into a pioneering youth movement with more than 6000 members. Taking its roots in the city of Chennai, URYM has branched out to different parts of Tamil nadu like Kanchipuram, Kalpakkam, Madurai, Gummidipoondi, Salem, Nagercoil, Kanyakumari and also in other states like Karnataka (Bangalore), Maharashtra (Mumbai) and Andhra Pradesh (Vishakapatnam) . At present we have 10 people serving the Lord as full time staff and there are also few part-time workers in URYM
